Program Manager


Nadační fond Nadace Bátor Tábor Česká republika seeks an energetic, entrepreneurial and passionate Program Manager (PM) to help us improve the lives of ill children in the Czech Republic.


Bátor Tábor (www.batortabor.hu) is a non-profit organization providing recreational therapy programs for ill children since 2001. We run programs in Czech, Hungary, Poland and Slovakia, and work with 1000 volunteers annually. Our programs are growing: this year, we aim to help 2200 ill children in four countries.



Volunteer Recruitment

  • Work with the Head of Program Development to recruit new applicants, to carry out volunteer interviews and maintain a constructive, positive working relationship with Bátor Tábor CZ’s volunteer base.
  • Assist in organizing and carrying out volunteer trainings for Hospital Outreach and Camp Programs

Camper Recruitment

  • Keep in touch with Bátor Tábor’s hospital coordinators and administer the camper applications received via them
  • Keep in touch with campers’ families and provide support and necessary information during the months leading up to a camp session

Program Management

  • Assist in all aspects of program development and organization
  • Participate in program planning meetings, preparing campsite camp sessions, implementing camp programs, leading the evaluative process of programs, and facilitating program enhancements.
  • Take on a camp leadership role during a camp session, working closely with the Camp Director in training and supervising volunteers and providing support for campers and volunteers alike
  • Maintain camp program budgets
  • Maintain a constructive working relationship with independent program providers and other partners of Bátor Tábor CZ essential to carrying out Bátor Tábor’s mission
  • Develop and assemble paperwork for program staff (send job descriptions, program summaries, contracts)
  • Support the camp program team in upholding the standards and the SeriousFun Children’s Network Criteria as well as all additional standards, safety measures and criteria set by Bátor Tábor Foundation.

Training and Experience

  • Experience in camp programs and administration strongly preferred
  • Experience managing projects requiring internal and external collaboration and a strong track record of being able to organize prioritize and manage projects effectively
  • Significant people management experience; ability to train, supervise and evaluate volunteers
  • Significant experience in youth workMust have strong skills in conflict resolution


  • Bachelor’s degree required, preferably in pedagogy, psychology or other related field

Additional Requirements 

  • Desire to work in an international, entrepreneurial, mission-driven organization
  • Full-time availability in Prague
  • Highly motivated team player with the ability to work autonomously
  • Strong organization, managerial, interpersonal, and communication skills
  • Valid driver’s license (Type B)
  • Immunization record
  • Criminal background check
  • Fluency in English both in speech and in writing
  • Good I.T. skills, significant knowledge of Microsoft Excel
  • Physical strength and endurance required to maintain constant supervision of and interaction with the campers and staff (occasionally be able to lift up to 25 kgs)

Fundraising manager, Prague, Czech Republic


About the organization

We change lives. We provide life-changing experiences, strength and tools to live and to recover for seriously ill children and their families. We give back the lost childhood to our campers.

With the help of therapeutic recreation children get new experiences, extend their boundaries in an all-safe environment, and as a consequence, they gather strength to fight against their illness.

We are a member of SeriousFun Network, a global network active in 50 countries.

After 18 years of successfully running a therapeutic camp in Hungary, we decided to start summer camp sessions and hospital programs in Czech Republic and are building a team to bring this ambition to life.

Your role

As the Fundraising manager, you will be a critical member of the Czech Bator Tabor team. You will have the chance to help build the Czech branch from grass-roots, with support from the international, established organization. Your main responsibilities will include:

  • prepare short- and long-term fundraising strategy, budget and activities in the Czech Republic, in line with the objectives Bátor Tábor Foundation;
  • identify new corporate and individual donors, corporate partners and events, identify and test new fundraising opportunities corporate or non-governmental grant applications;
  • maintain relationships with existing partners, keep track of donor contacts and provide the Board with plans of activities, evaluations of progress and annual results;
  • coordinate the charity running program of Bátor Tábor in the Czech Republic;
  • prepare marketing communication materials incl. translation of documents into Czech/English (flyers, graphic and sponsorship materials, adverts, materials for the media);
  • ensure that the plans and financial targets are achieved;
  • operate Bátor Tábor Czech Republic fundraising in a precise, transparent and timely manner compliant with its internal regulations and applicable laws;
  • report to the representatives of the parent foundation – Bátor Tábor Foundation on a weekly basis and actively cooperate with the members of the Board and abide by their

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bc. or Mgr. equivalent
  • Ability to speak and write Czech and English fluently
  • Genuine passion to help a good cause
  • Innovative thinking, challenging mindset
  • Ability to cooperate with different type of people (with different mindset)
  • Ability to build good relationship with colleagues, and clients
  • Mobility, flexibility

Preferred qualifications:

  • Strong problem solving, business judgment and prioritization skills
  • Strong presentation and communication skills
  • Experience in marketing and project management
  • Experience in sales or account management (e.g. handling prominent clients / sponsors)
  • Experience in NGO world and Fundraising is and advantage
